It has been printed!!
I have a proof in hand. Just a few more steps and my 464 page Science Fiction novel will be on the market.
My first book of The Chronicles of Evolvere:
MAC ONE - Firstborn
It is a story about a little guy named Michael Adam Cooper. Mac, at conception, becomes the next step in the evolution of mankind.
Kidnapping, people disappear, murder, and a thousand year battle begins between good and a old, yet, new evil. The Doctor, Mac's paternal grandfather, is behind the evil that threatens Mac, his family and the world.
Mac's family, the CIA, scientists, some special friends, and a tenacious news reporter are right in the middle of it. The battle for the family's freedom is hard fought with the help of an ex-CIA agent, a CIA special forces team and Mac himself.
The next book of The Chronicles of Evolvere:
MAC TWO - The Prince
Michael Adam Cooper is introduced to the world and the chaos begins.
With his conception and birth the world will change in ways we can only imagine.
The science world is excited with the hope of new discoveries; taking us to realms of science only dreamed of.
The religious world is turned upside down with leaders scrambling to maintain reason to the chaos. The foundation of their beliefs appear to be crumbling before them, while a few belief systems embrace this new phenomenal evolutionary child.
Political systems around the world are slow to react, as usual. A few forward thinking politicians however, take notice, and see the potential of taking advantage of Mac's abilities and his growing fame.
The motivation of wealth has the corporate business world knocking on Mac's door within days of his public introduction. There are offers of huge amounts of money for Mac's time, knowledge, and what he is presumed to be able to create.
Then there are those who fear change and the unknown. Some see Mac as evil; some foresee a threat to Homo Sapiens as a human species; and some just want Mac dead.

The Super Bowl and some travel kept me away from my blog for a few days. I am back and back to work. I write by the seat of my pants, so to speak. Yeah, I do some planning as to where I want the plot to go, but mostly I sit down, start writing, and let the characters dictate the journey. It is very revealing when I am writing, I seem to live the book. Not by actual action, but in my mind. I eat, sleep, and talk the book 24/7. When my wife has heard enough, she puts up her palm and says, "to many words, Steve." One thing I worry about is the length of book I, Evolvere - The Birth, it is 146,000 words. I have heard from agents and editors, and have read in guidelines that a first book should be between 80k to 110k in length. I could shorten my book, but I think the plot would suffer greatly.
Word for the day: Cloning. In our modern world today, most everyone knows what cloning means: to create an identical copy. Human cloning has the same goal; to create an genetically identical copy of a human. In 1998 the first human clone was created by Advanced Cell Technologies. The first that was publicly announced. There may be a cloning underground that operates in secret. Who knows? They took a cell from a man's leg and a cow's egg with the DNA removed and created a genetically identical human clone. It was destroyed on the 12th day since a normal embryo implants at 14 days.

I created a new character for the The Chronicles of Evolvere: Livia Drusilla. It is a Roman name. She was formally adopted into the Julian family in AD 14, also known as Julia Augusta, was the wife of Roman emperor Augustus throughout his reign, as well as his adviser. Livia was also the mother and grandmother of four future emperors, Tiberius, Claudius, Caligula, and Nero. She was deified by Claudius.
You will have to read the book MAC ONE - Firstborn to see how she fits into the storyline. I can tell you this much she will be a permanent character.
Word for the day: Evolvere, pronounced Eh-vol-vair, the L is almost silent. It is Latin meaning to develop, unroll, reveal, discover, and yes, evolve.

Doing some research on the history of the double helix. Very interesting stuff. Reading a book by James Watson, "DNA The Secret Of Life". James Watson, Frances Crick, and Maurice Wilkins elucidated the structure and function of DNA. Good read for those who are interested. I have gained much knowledge concerning genetics writing the Evolvere series. Book II is moving fast.
